Fraudulent Text Message Red Alert!
Please be aware of a new text message scam being reported by several banks across the country.
The text message typically looks like this or something similar.
If you call the number provided, you’ll be asked to enter your debit card number and maybe even your
personal identification number (PIN). Unfortunately it’s a trick to get access to your bank account via
your debit card. RiverHills Bank’s fraud department will never ask you for your complete card number.
It should always raise a red flag if you are asked for card numbers, account numbers, or your social security
number. Please call us if you’ve received a text message concerning your debit card, or if you have any
questions about this issue. Together we can help blunt the effectiveness of this fraudulent activity.
